A typical padel court is 10m by 20m enclosed above ground with a combination of glass and weld mesh rebound wall and fence panels supported off steel posts fixed to a concrete foundation with a synthetic turf play surface. Padel is always played as doubles, with the participants wearing normal tennis clothing and trainers. The padel racket is a solid, stringless racket perforated with holes, specifically designed for the sport of padel. Unlike tennis rackets, they are smaller, generally made of carbon fibre or fibreglass with an Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) or foam core, and feature a wrist strap for safety. Padel balls are a slightly lower-pressure, smaller version of a tennis ball, making rallies longer and more strategic. These balls have lower internal pressure and bounce less intensely than tennis balls, allowing for more controlled, strategic play and extended rallies.
